As I went to Taiwan I had the planned exam to see if I am one of these patients. The initial blood test and sampling from my lip shows that I am not a Sjögren syndrome patient --- not yet at this moment. Since I already started to have the symptoms, and my younger brother was diagnosed this genetic inherited disease years ago, it is best I must immediately start take preventive measures. 

 At first I thought it was Japan being dry to me, especially in winter. I started to have symptom like extreme pain on both of my wrists and finger joints. I can not key in, or even holding my smartphone. A little weight is too much for me, this is horrible for someone who needs to type a lot daily. 

 

The medicine provided by the hospital is not good. It doesn't help at all. God knows how much budget they cut down for those medicine. The wound in my lips didn't recover after 1 month. So when I returned to Fukuoka, I went to a local hospital "福岡紀念病院 (大成會) " with multiple language support.

 

The doc examined my lips carefully, and gave me some "oral mucosa agent". I didn't think it will work but surprisingly, it did ! The second day my wound is almost recovered. 

Update: I took advanced test to check my blood to see if I am a Sjögren syndrome patient, the result is negative. But the doc said it is still possible for me to be a patient who hasn't entered the phase that it can be detected. The syndrome always comes far earlier than the threshold set by the test.

So I still take the medicine and need to endure its side effect. The interesting thing is that when I return to Taipei the humidity will greatly ease my pain in fingers (70~80+) . In Japan, the summer is almost as humid as Taiwan due to global warning. So I can take less medicine in Summer.
